Thirty-three schools make the Honor Roll based on the Oklahoma School Report Cards for 2022

OKLAHOMA CITY – The 2022 Alpha Plus Honor Roll is finally available with the addition of the 2022 Oklahoma School Report Cards scores and letter grades last week on a platform hosted by the State Department of Education at https://www.oklaschools.com.

Thirty-three schools that use the Alpha Plus Model of School Improvement received A or B grades compared to 26 on the honor roll in 2019 (the most recent state report cards available). All Alpha Plus Partner Schools getting “A” grades from the state either improved or maintained the grade over the last three school years. Some schools such as Balko, Bennington, Flower Mound and Geronimo have used Alpha Plus tools for more than five years; others such as Fargo-Gage, Morrison, and Roff have been trained in the model over the last couple of years.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - When the Oklahoma State Board of Education approved suspending school report card grades this school year because of the disruption of COVID-19, the context and consequences were clear to a local expert in assessment and school improvement.

“Since state test scores comprise about three-fourths of any school’s report card grade, it makes sense the state would not make A-F calculations,” explained Jan Barrick, CEO of Alpha Plus Educational Systems.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma State Department of Education has announced it plans to pursue a federal waiver to suspend statewide student assessments for the 2019-2020 school year.

“Oklahomans, like all Americans, are seeking to ‘flatten the curve’ of a global pandemic. Our foremost concern is ensuring our students and school communities remain as safe and healthy as possible, which is why the State Board of Education voted earlier this week to cease all school operations until at least April 6, and possibly longer,” said State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister.
