As we continue to develop resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to ensure you have access to updated information and guidance being developed on an ongoing basis by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
We strongly encourage all Oklahoma school and district leaders to review the the CDC's "School Decision Tree" and considerations for school closure document linked here: Click here
State Supt. Joy Hofmeister: “We are removing barriers that would prevent school districts from making decisions that would be in the best interest of their students and their well being.
"Closing school can have an impact on attendance requirements, impact school accountability or other things that need to fall to the wayside when considering student health and safety.”

UPDATE: Oklahoma State Department of Education announced they are applying for 4 waivers that will support schools and communities to provide school meals to children in areas experiencing school closures in response to COVID-19. Thank you Oklahoma State Department of Education and Superintendent Joy Hofmeister for your leadership in ensuring OK students are supported if schools close due to COVID-19.
